Yeah-yeah. Tomorrow's the day. That's right. I GO ON VACATION!!!!!!!! YES!!! I fly out for Boston tomorrow night to enjoy six fun filled days with my best friend Brandi. Six days away from work. Six days I can catch up on sleep. Six days to see Boston.
I'm just a little excited...
But before I go, I wanted to recount the past week. I have such a great group of friends, and here's why:
-Last Tuesday, Chipotle was giving away free burritos if you brought in canned goods.
ellipsesbandit and I made plans to go get free food, but the line was loooong. We said, "to hell with that," and went to Wendy's. Later that night, the guys went up to Chipotle to get free food, and they offered to get me a burrito . I said if they could that would be great, but if not that was okay too. Just before I went to bed, I find a coupon on my desk for a free burrito. The restaurant ran out of food, and ended up giving coupons. The guys each got two ('cause they drove to different places) and Brad gave one of his to me.
-Gary, who also works at LensCrafters. told me he talked to his old lab manager in Boston. He told me the lab manager said I could work part-time if I got into school out there. How nice is that?
-
ellipsesbandit betaed one of my chapters before she left for Texas today so I was able to post before I left. She's so awesome
-And then Matt is lending me his Bose noise reduction earphones for the plane ride. He even put some CSI on my iPod so I'd have something to watch. He's so good to me.
I'm so lucky to have such a great group of friends. I don't usually get mushy, but I love them. They really take care of me, and I couldn't ask for better people.
Now back to the trip :) Brandi managed to get us Red Sox tickets (the Rockies are in town!!) for, get this...$40. That's a steal considering a lot of the other tickets were $75 on up. We're along the foul line on the right side; foul ball territory. Definitely bringing the glove.
We're going to see the Freedom trail, Harvard, MGH (Mass. General Hospital 'cause I'm dork), Spenser hot spots (for the fans of Robert B. Parker), Fenway, and lots of other stuff thanks to some brilliant suggestions by
scullyseviltwin.
Can I tell you what nice gal she is?
I shot her an email about three weeks ago, asking for suggestions on what to see in Boston. Brandi has been living in a library the last two years so she doesn't know the city that well, and me? I just know the major tourist attractions. Not only did she give us a whole list of awesome stuff, but she even offered us one of her special walking tours. How cool is that? For her to offer to do that for people she doesn't know is just incredibly nice and very sweet.
scullyseviltwin, I thank you, thank you, thank you for this; I look forward to meeting you :)
Well, I'm armed with two 2GB memory cards for my camera. Be ready for lots of dorky pics when I come back! Enjoy your week!! I know I will :)
